Loss of positions and fresh “mistakes” of the Russian Federation: General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front

The full-scale war in Ukraine continues, and the country's Defense Forces are tirelessly holding off the enemy. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 112 enemy attacks.
Actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and strikes against the enemy
The Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces and artillery inflicted significant blows on the enemy, hitting 20 areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated, a command post, artillery equipment, ammunition and enemy air defense. The main efforts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are concentrated in the Tavrichesky, Donetsk and Slobozhansky operational areas to disrupt the invaders’ plans for advancement.
Breakthrough attempts and shelling
As of 10:30 on May 21, the invaders made 37 attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense line. Also, 514 attacks on Ukrainian positions were recorded, of which 21 were from MLRS. The occupiers also dropped an adjustable aerial bomb (KAB).
The situation in various directions
In the Kharkov direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repulsed an enemy attack near the village of Liptsy, preventing losses of positions. Four attacks were repulsed in the Kupyansk direction. The enemy continues to put pressure on the Seversk direction, but there have been no losses of positions either.
Kramatorsk and Pokrovskoe directions
Five attacks were carried out in the Kramatorsk direction, three of which were successfully repulsed. The fighting continues in the direction of Kleshchievka and Andreevka. In the Pokrovsky direction, the enemy carried out 11 military clashes, continuing to advance in the directions of Evgenievka, Sokol, Novoselovka Pervaya, Severny and Netailovo. At one of the sites, measures are being taken to stabilize the situation.
Other directions
Fighting continues in the Kurakhovsky direction in the area of Krasnogorovka and Pobeda. In the Vremiv direction in the Staromayorsky area, four attacks by the invaders were repulsed.
Enemy losses and prospects
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine updated data on enemy losses: over the past 24 hours, 1,380 invaders were liquidated. The total enemy losses as of May 21, 2024 crossed the 495 thousand mark. According to the American magazine Foreign Affairs, Ukraine still has a chance to defeat Russia if the West clearly states the ultimate goal - the victory of Ukraine and provides all the necessary military assistance.
