In winter, Kyiv residents need to be prepared for serious blackouts – perhaps even a week-long one. This was stated by Deputy of the Kyiv City Council Leonid Yemets.
“A serious problem is expected, very serious. I don’t want to scrimp, but we need to be prepared for serious blackouts. And perhaps even a week-long one under different developments of circumstances. So, at the last meeting of the Kiev City Council, a decision was made that will make it possible to attract about 4 billion hryvnias of external funds from our international partners - such an agreement has already been reached. The appropriate equipment has already been reserved, which will allow generating electricity in Kyiv,” he explained on the air of the “Evening.LIVE” program.
According to the deputy, about 20 points will be equipped, which will provide electricity to at least all infrastructure facilities. He emphasized that the City Council is not just keeping its finger on the pulse - the work has already been done.
