The Russians have already used almost all available strategic reserves during the offensive in the north of the Kharkov region, so they are now trying to “create the illusion of irrationality of actions” in order to prevent the ability to assess their real potential, plans and main task.

Ivan Timochko, a serviceman and chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, spoke about this during a telethon, analyzing the possibilities of the invaders to transfer reserves to the Kharkov region, as well as try to attack in the Sumy or Chernihiv regions.

He noted that the Russians had already tried to transfer additional forces from the Kupyansky direction and Kherson to the north of the Kharkov region, because they hoped that an early offensive would yield results. However, they were stopped on those battle lines where fighting took place in the early days.

“The maximum depth where the enemy managed to pass was 8 kilometers, and 10 kilometers can be said to be a depth, but already a combat zone, taking into account the depth of defense of our troops,” Timochko emphasized.

The Russians are constantly moving troops, but this is due to the fact that all the strategic reserves that they could use have already been used. “The transfer of troops or additional forces occurs within the framework of existing troops that are located on the territory of occupied Ukraine, with the aim of strengthening troops in hotter areas. And also with the aim of creating the illusion of a continuous offensive or inexhaustible reserves,” the serviceman emphasized.

Now the main task of Russia is to create the illusion of irrationality of actions, so that it would be difficult for Ukraine to predict and assess their potential. “Even with small forces, they can try to attack in the Sumy region or in other directions. For them, the loss of several thousand people in specific directions means absolutely nothing,” Tymochko noted.

In addition, through reconnaissance in force, the Russians are trying to calculate the strength of Ukrainian forces in specific directions, their ability to respond and use additional means and resources. They also want to study in more detail the main and additional supply routes for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russians are trying to informationally strengthen the attempt to break through the Ukrainian borders in order to create the illusion that every direction where they work, even with several hundred or thousand people, was perceived as the main one.

“Although we all know and understand that the main task is the pre-occupation (full occupation) of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. As well as the seizure of those territories that Russia occupied, but was forced to retreat in front of our troops,” the serviceman emphasized.

The Chairman of the Council of Ground Forces Reservists noted that a potential threat from the enemy exists along the entire length of the Ukrainian borders, as well as on the front line, where the Russians are not even actively fighting.

“We have 2.5 thousand km of common borders and front lines, together. And battles are carried out only on 1.5 thousand km, active linear battles. On that thousand-kilometer stretch where we border with Belarus and Russia, there is continuous There are battles between sabotage and reconnaissance groups, as well as artillery duels. We just don’t have large-scale linear battles along the entire border line, although the threat and potential can arise anywhere,” Timochko concluded.
