Spain plans to send Patriot missiles and Leopard tanks to Ukraine as part of a previously announced arms package worth 1.13 billion euros ($1.23 billion), writes Reuters.
It is noted that Spain will transfer to Ukraine a dozen critical Patriot anti-aircraft missiles and 19 used German-made Leopard 2A4 tanks, as well as other Spanish-made weapons such as anti-drone systems and ammunition.
The new arms commitments will be announced during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's official visit to Madrid on Monday, May 27, where he will meet with Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and King Felipe.
The cost of the package was approved by the government last month, although it did not specify what weapons would be included.
