This was reported by the head of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkov region, Sergei Bolvinov, on Facebook.
“This night, at the place where there was a department selling lamps, another body was found. There are already fifteen dead. Work in the laboratory also continues - during the night, specialists were able to identify two more victims. At the same time, the search does not stop, unfortunately , there may still be bodies in the hypermarket,” he said.
At the same time, a representative of the regional prosecutor's office, Dmitry Chubenko, said on Radio Liberty that there could be 18 dead in the hypermarket in Kharkov; identification is complicated by the consequences of the fire.
According to him, the identities of 11 people have now been accurately established, and seven more statements to law enforcement agencies have been received from relatives. He added that the store area is very large, and almost nothing remains of some of the bodies.
“In total, as of now, the probable dead are about 18 people. That is, these are 11 bodies that were found, and 7 statements that remain,” Chubenko said.
In addition, the head of the Kharkov regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, said that a total of 21 people are currently in hospitals.
“Among them, one 13-year-old child is in a moderate condition with positive dynamics. Two people are in intensive care in a serious condition. Doctors are providing all the necessary medical care,” said the head of the Regional State Administration.
