The list of signatory countries to the final communiqué of the Global Peace Summit has been reduced to 78.
Iraq and Jordan disappeared from the list published on the website of the Swiss Foreign Ministry. The reasons for this decision are not reported.
Among the states that refused to support the final statement is India. The head of the Indian delegation, Pawan Kapoor, said they support any collective effort to promote a peaceful resolution, but lasting peace "requires the combined efforts of all stakeholders and sincere and practical interaction between the two sides of the conflict."
“Our participation in this summit and further interaction with all interested parties is aimed at understanding different points of view, approaches and options for finding ways for a sustainable resolution of the conflict. In our opinion, only those options that are acceptable to both sides can lead to lasting peace. In In accordance with this approach, we have decided not to bind ourselves to the Joint Communiqué or any other document prepared as a result of this summit,” his statement said.
