The Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattacked near Chasovy Yar, Donetsk region, and drove the Russian Armed Forces out of the Kanal microdistrict.
This was stated by Bild analyst Julian Röpke. According to him, Ukrainian soldiers carried out a successful operation and drove the invaders out of the residential area.
The battle for Chasov Yar has been going on for several months. The city is located on the hills, and is also separated from Russian forces by the Seversky Donets - Donbass water canal. In the east, behind the canal, there is a residential microdistrict "Canal" with apartment buildings. Previously, the Russian Armed Forces tried to bypass it from the flanks and attack directly. For some time they managed to occupy the destroyed buildings. But now the Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattacked and drove the Russians out of there.
“The Ukrainian army recaptured (or never lost) several streets in the Kanal microdistrict in Chasovoy Yar,” Röpke reports.
According to him, Russian troops also unsuccessfully counterattacked the village of Kalinovka north of the Kanal. Previously, they captured it and approached the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal, but were then driven back.
