NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Russian troops are not capable of a "big breakthrough" on the battlefield in Ukraine. He emphasized that Ukrainian forces are inflicting significant losses on the Russian occupiers, attacking both in the depths of the occupied territories and on the territory of Russia itself.

Failed offensive attempts

According to Stoltenberg, Russian troops made further offensive attempts in the spring and summer, particularly in the Kharkov region, but achieved only minor successes. “They tried to launch an offensive again this spring and summer, but so far they have had only minor success,” he said, commenting on the situation for The Telegraph.

The head of NATO said that allies have no reason to believe that Russia is capable of major breakthroughs in military operations. However, he warned that Russia would likely continue offensive actions and air strikes. “But we saw that the Ukrainians were able to hold the line,” Stoltenberg added.

In addition to defensive capabilities, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully strike Russian targets deep in the occupied territories and Russia itself, causing significant losses to the aggressor. “The Ukrainian Armed Forces are capable of not only holding the front, but also inflicting great harm on the aggressor, both in defensive battles and by hitting targets deep in the Russian Federation,” Stoltenberg emphasized.

Current situation at the front

According to operational information from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, over the past 24 hours, more than 100 military clashes have occurred on the front line. The enemy is actively looking for ways to penetrate the Ukrainian defense and is trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions.

Despite intense attacks, Ukrainian defenders continue to offer worthy resistance to the invaders. The Ukrainian Armed Forces effectively destroy enemy personnel and equipment, demonstrating a high level of training and combat effectiveness.

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence in Ukraine's ability to hold the line and inflict significant losses on Russian troops. He noted that Russia's attempts to make a "big breakthrough" in Ukraine are unlikely, but the allies continue to closely monitor the situation and support Ukrainian forces in their struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
