Zelensky spoke about the pace of mobilization and selection of people through the lottery

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky commented on the pace of mobilization in Ukraine and the idea of recruiting people through a lottery, as during the Civil War in the United States of America.
In an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Trudy Rubin, he said that the request for the number of mobilized is formed by the leadership of the Armed Forces. “We can provide weapons, clothing, modern technologies, I must find money for this production, encourage partners for this. But tactical actions, how many people are needed at the front - this always needs to be formulated by the military leadership. The military leadership formulated the numbers, I I saw it, and today they are following this plan,” he said.
Zelensky noted that holding a lottery would not be a fair and ethical decision. “This lottery story took place in the United States of America, but it was not a war on your territory and not for the existence of the United States. This is not an existential challenge, these are other things. Ukraine is fighting for survival,” the president added.
