Poland extended temporary protection for Ukrainians until September 30, 2025, but stopped one type of assistance for refugees.

According to Polish Radio, on July 1, one of the types of assistance for newly arrived Ukrainians from among the internally displaced persons was stopped. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland Maciej Duszczyk announced that households that will receive Ukrainians will not be able to receive monetary compensation in the amount of 40 zlotys per day.

Ukrainians will be able to receive assistance in places of shared residence. The payment of 300 zlotys as a one-time benefit for newly arrived Ukrainians has also been cancelled.

“There are few new refugees, so this system, in our opinion, as well as in the opinion of many observers, does not seem justified,” Duszczyk noted.
