Early parliamentary elections were held in Great Britain on July 4. For the first time in 14 years of being in power, the conservative party found itself in the minority.

This was reported by the BBC with reference to the data of the exit poll conducted by the Ipsos UK company on behalf of the Sky News, BBC and ITV News channels. Thus, the opposition Labor Party is expected to win 410 seats, giving the force a 170-seat majority.

At the same time, the Conservative Party - currently in power - will receive 131 seats. The Liberal Democratic Party came in third place, winning 61 mandates. This is six times more than the party has in the current House of Commons.

Nigel Farage's Eurosceptic Reform UK party, which has recently made strange statements about the war in Ukraine, can get 13 seats. In turn, the Scottish National Party will receive 10 seats, the "Greens" can count on two seats in the House of Commons. Another 19 mandates were won by smaller political forces and independent politicians.

Although the final results of the vote may become known as early as the morning of July 5, exit poll data leave no room for doubt – Rishi Sunak will lose the prime minister's seat. Labor will have a majority in the House of Commons, and Keir Starmer will likely become the British Prime Minister.
