Warriors of the combined group of fighters of the 225th separate assault battalion 223 of the Marine Corps held their position surrounded in a perimeter defense for 70 days.
As the battalion reported on Facebook, the combined group of defenders spent 70 days in a position surrounded and without rotation. The operation to break through the logistics route to the defenders lasted more than two months.
While other military men tried to clear the way, the fighters held a perimeter defense, repelling Russian attacks around the clock. The only supply route for the surrounded fighters was drones - they delivered ammunition, food and water.
“Despite the wounds and constant pressure from the enemy, the fighters held their position and were taken out for rotation at the first opportunity. The position is ours, the path is unblocked,” the message says.
The battalion did not disclose where exactly these events took place. However, recent reports indicate that this formation carried out combat missions in the Chasovoy Yar area.
