The former head of the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Knyazev, was stopped near the village of Solotvyno in Transcarpathia, not far from the border with Romania.
This was reported by a source of "Ukrainian Pravda" in law enforcement agencies. "Knyazev was found at a checkpoint in a car where he was riding as a passenger. They took away his explanations regarding the purpose of his stay in the border area. Knyazev noted that he arrived for the purpose of recreation. He is not currently in the border unit. He is sent outside the border strip. About the incident The police and TCC have been informed."
As journalist Vitaly Glagola added, border guards detained Knyazev 1 km from Romania. He said that the former head of the Supreme Court was taken to the Solotvyno border service department, where they checked the version of a possible attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.
“The ex-chairman of the Supreme Court was traveling in a Voskswagen car with number AO1794YA as a passenger,” the journalist said.
Glagola also reported that “superficially nothing was found” from Knyazev. “They didn’t visually see the foreign passport. They didn’t examine it in depth, they were afraid of a conflict. He behaved normally. He was handed over to the police, he said that he was going on vacation to Solotvyno. He was recommended to leave the Transcarpathian region,” said the journalist’s source at the State Border Guard Service.
