The Romanian Ministry of National Defense said that the Russians are trying to spread disinformation about the flights of their F-16 fighters in the skies of Ukraine.
According to News.ro, the ministry condemned the attempt at disinformation by Russian-linked propaganda channels that reported a series of F-16 flights in the Odessa region last week.
“So-called “sources”, not identified in a post on the Russian Telegram platform, claim that the F-16 fighters took off from Romanian airfields. The F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force carry out training and police missions exclusively in national airspace, in strict accordance with the rules established by international law," the statement said.
Romania linked this campaign to the latest NATO summit, at which important decisions were made to support Ukraine’s defense efforts against the illegal and unjustified war of aggression unleashed by the Russian Federation.
