A serviceman of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Ataman Kostya Gordienko with the call sign “Historian” spoke on the telethon about the situation in the Volchansk region of the Kharkov region.
"The Russian occupation forces continue to conduct offensive actions in order to achieve tactical success. First of all, these are attempts to break through the defense line in the city of Volchansk and its environs; the massive use of cannon and rocket artillery, aviation, reconnaissance and attack drones continues. The coordinated work of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, despite on the activity of the occupying forces, makes it possible to hold the defense and break the plans of the enemy military command,” the “Historian” said.
He also added that weather conditions have so far reduced the activity of enemy infantry assaults. However, it is impossible to talk about any significant change in the enemy’s tactics. According to him, Ukrainian military personnel are in extremely difficult conditions. However, successful defensive actions in the city of Volchansk continue.
“Of course, the weather anomaly that continues on the territory of Ukraine complicates the conduct of a defensive operation. However, our military is successfully coping with the assigned tasks, despite the catastrophic heat,” the Historian added.
According to the military man, the invaders are trying to carry out assault operations in the city using the tactics of small infantry groups. In particular, for this they are drawing up reserves from other directions.
“They are trying to gain a foothold in urban areas. Considering the enemy’s activity, as well as our intelligence reports, we feel that the enemy has used reserves - units that previously carried out tasks to occupy our land in other operational directions. Today, the enemy army is trying to implement the occupiers’ plans to capture Volchansk quite actively, despite heavy losses,” the military man noted.
