Ukraine will not become a member of the European Union if the Volyn issue is not resolved.
Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh stated this in an interview with Polsat News. According to him, Warsaw supports Kyiv “as much as possible,” although in relations between the countries “not everything is ideal due to unresolved historical issues.”
“In his opinion, realpolitik should deliver an ultimatum. Without resolving the Volyn issue, there will be no accession of Ukraine to the European Union,” the article says.
At the same time, the Polish minister assures that for them the end of the war will only be a victory for Ukraine. “Any other case remains a direct threat of war for Poland. This is where the security of Poland and Europe is at stake,” Kosiniak-Kamysh added.
