What does the “restricted fit” status actually mean: explanation from the head of the TCC

In Ukraine, the status of “limitedly fit” has been abolished, so now such persons can be suitable for service in military support units, TCC, higher educational institutions, and the like. Now there are units where you can do work without physical activity, thanks to which people with health limitations can work fully, assured the head of the Darnitsky district in Kiev, Vladimir Novosyadly, in an interview with “Evening Kyiv”.
“Someone can answer telephone calls, someone can work as an operator on the same Oberig system. There are also communications units that are located at a certain distance from the combat zone, but provide communications that cannot be done without. There are unmanned aerial vehicles that can be controlled from a distance, even from the office. If there is a need for such personnel, then, of course, this category will be called upon, but taking into account individual health recommendations,” he explained.
According to Novosyadly, the procedure for previously “limitedly fit” and current “fit for service in military support units, TCC, higher military educational institutions, etc.” are similar to each other, however, it should be understood that the majority of those previously of limited fitness will become fully suitable, and some may be considered unfit and excluded from registration.
Also, the head of the Darnitsky TCC told what conscripts should expect next.
“Changes in conscript service will probably take place next year. Preparations are currently underway, certain processes are being prepared. It will be possible to choose the timing of training, conditions, options, etc. All of this together, in my opinion, will improve the quality of those liable for military service and give an opportunity to acquire basic skills in a short time. And of course, this will strengthen our army, modernize it and protect our future,” Novosyadly assured.
