The connection of two nuclear power units to the Ukrainian energy system allowed Ukrainians to immediately feel an improvement in the light situation. As the correspondent reports, Energy Minister German Galushchenko announced this during a briefing.
“This is an event that every Ukrainian will feel. I spoke about this in the Verkhovna Rada. On Friday there was an hour of questions for the government. I said that in the near future everyone will feel a change in the situation. This is just the launch of one nuclear unit last week and this week the second nuclear unit," Galushchenko said.
He also noted that both last week and now, the duration of the repair campaign was significantly reduced with the help of the heroic work of power engineers.
“The question is not just to shorten the repair campaign, but to do it in compliance with all nuclear radar safety requirements. The repair campaign has been shortened by almost two weeks. Today, the whole of Ukraine actually felt the launch of the unit, because today (July 24) until 16:00 in general There were no blackouts in Ukraine until 18:00. And tomorrow the situation will be even better,” the minister added.
