On the night of July 25, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with attack UAVs of the "Shahed" type from Cape Chauda, Crimea and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), including the settlement of Vilkovo in the Odessa region - there was destruction and injuries.
According to the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nikolai Oleshchuk, the aggressor used 38 attack UAVs "Shahed-131/136", which he sent to infrastructure facilities in several directions, in particular - the south of the Odessa region and the central regions of Ukraine.
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces and electronic warfare units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and crews of mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 25 attack UAVs were shot down.
According to the report, several Russian drones have likely crossed the state border with Romania.
“Three more location suicide bombers were lost after crossing the state border with Romania,” the message says.
According to the commander, air defense worked in Odessa, Kherson, Nikolaev, Kyiv, Sumy, Zhitomir and Cherkasy regions.
According to the head of the Odessa Police Department Oleg Kiper, the Izmail region was again under attack. As a result of the shelling, the administrative building was partially destroyed, followed by a fire. Two people were also injured as a result of debris falling on a private home.
“One person was hospitalized in a medical facility in a moderate condition. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance,” Kiper added.
The Izmail administration clarified that the settlement of Vilkovo, which is called the Ukrainian Venice, was under attack.
“Due to the enemy shelling by 11 kamikaze drones “Shahed-136” in the city of Vilkovo, Izmail region, port infrastructure facilities were damaged and a private house was hit, unfortunately there were casualties,” the message says.
The press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office said that the enemy had entered the border and civilian infrastructure of the south of the region. As a result of the attack, private households were damaged and elderly spouses were injured.
“The inspection continues, a full list of destruction and damage is being established. Prosecutors are working at the scenes in cooperation with other law enforcement officers who are recording the consequences of the shelling,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The press service added that an investigation has now begun into violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
As the prosecutor's office clarified, both victims were born in 1955.
"The man was hospitalized. He has a shrapnel wound to his back. Burns to the head, back, legs - 1st degree burns, 20 - 25% of the body surface," the department added.
