14 Leopard 2A4 tanks, which were purchased by the Netherlands and Denmark for Ukraine, will be shipped this summer. The equipment has been undergoing repairs and testing in recent months. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, reports the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands.
It is noted that these tanks were repaired by the German defense company Rheinmetall. Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces can use them to fight the invaders. Now 2 tanks are undergoing some more checks, and the remaining 12 are already ready for shipment.
"Ukraine urgently needs additional military support due to heavy fighting. These tanks can play an important role in protecting the Ukrainian army from Russian troops," Brekelmans said.
According to him, the Netherlands will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine together with its allies for as long as needed.
The press service of the Dutch Ministry of Defense added that Leopard 2A4 can help Ukraine gain an advantage at the front, because they have great firepower, protect the crew well and are fast.
