"Getting it in the teeth": an officer of the 59th brigade spoke about the losses of Russians in the Pokrovsky direction

In the Pokrovsky direction, the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handzyuk of the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated more than 2,690 Russian occupiers in June, and more than 2,300 invaders in July. Dozens of enemy tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and howitzers were also destroyed in this direction. This was reported by the officer of the brigade, Sergei Tsekhotsky, in an interview with Radio NV.
"That is, we are constantly working, even if there are isolated [relatively quiet days] when after another attack they get hit in the teeth, our pilots look for them in different places and find them very successfully. On average, 70 to 100 occupiers are eliminated daily. This is what we can count. There are cases when, say, they run into some destroyed building, we see this and catch them there, but we cannot always count. We will count this after our victory," he emphasized.
According to the military man, the current goal of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is to seize the borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Tsekhotsky emphasized that such a result would be the final one.
"All other attempts... There was a threat in the Kharkov direction. I think their generals - [Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery] Gerasimov and others who are sitting there planning operations - understand very well that the city of Kharkov is beyond their reach. Yes, they can destroy it, they can shoot, destroy it, but it is almost impossible to capture this city when Molotov cocktails are flying at them from every window and so on. And in order to justify the goals of this so-called "SVO", they need to say something: "We saved, eight years of "dumping bombs". And then dig into the trenches and try to enter into some kind of negotiations. This, on their part, is what they dream about," the officer explained.
Tsekhotsky also commented on the appearance of F-16 fighters in Ukraine. In his opinion, these aircraft will make a difference on the battlefield.
"Although there are different sides that characterize the pros and cons, or let's call the insufficient plus of the appearance of the F-16, in fact, this is not at all the case. If we have an advantage in the air, our serviceman, who is motivated, very, very well trained during this period, including according to NATO standards, and on our battlefields with the enemy. Each and every one surpasses [the enemy in a ratio of] 1 to 20-30, if he is provided with everything necessary, if there is air support, artillery. I take into account not only the infantry, but also the artillerymen, anti-tank gunners, mortarmen, engineers, our logisticians, who are also performing tasks in the area [of military operations] today," the soldier emphasized.
According to him, this work is currently being carried out successfully, so in no case should the Ukrainian military be underestimated and their glory "defamed."
"We are stronger, this must be emphasized. We proved to the whole world on February 24 [2022] that we are a nation that can unite in one second, and, despite everything, simply go to death for the sake of our children, grandchildren, for the sake of the future, for the sake of the past, for the sake of the generations who gave their lives and always spoke Ukrainian, despite the Soviet Union, the tsarist empire, and so on," the officer concluded.
