The optimal age of a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter is 25-35 years old. This opinion was expressed by military analyst and ATO veteran Yevgeny Dyky.

"In my opinion, the optimal age for a fighter is 25-35 years old. The average is 30. This is a person who, on the one hand, is already psychologically mature, unfortunately, unlike the current 18 and 20-year-olds. But at the same time, this is a person who is still physically healthy, unlike 40, 45, and especially 50-year-olds," he explained on the air of the Kyiv24 TV channel.

According to Dyky, the average age of a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter is now "well over 45, or even 50+".

"Here, everything is fine with psychology, everything is fine with the ability to withstand stress. But, excuse me, you will not jump over the bar in terms of your body, purely physically. A 50-year-old body is not a 30-year-old. But as for psychological readiness, the vast majority of 20-year-olds are not ready yet. There are those who are ready, but they volunteer. Therefore, in fact, if we properly select 25, 30 and 35-year-olds who have barely registered after the legislation was changed, then we simply will not need to recruit 18-year-olds," the ATO veteran summed up.
