A bus with children overturned in Khmelnytskyi region. As a result of the accident, one child and one adult accompanying the children's group died. This was reported by the Communications Sector of the Khmelnytskyi Region Police.
As reported, there were 19 children and 4 adults on the bus. The traffic accident occurred today, August 13, at 07:45 on the H-03 highway near the village of Vyshnopil, Starokostiantynivska territorial community.
The driver of the LAZ Liner bus was transporting a group of children accompanied by two adults from the village of Lyubar, Zhytomyr region, to the village of Mykulychyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
"According to preliminary data, he lost control and allowed the vehicle to roll over. There were 23 people in the bus, including 19 children, two adults accompanying the group, and two drivers," the police said.
As a result of the accident, one 12-year-old girl and one adult died. The number of injured and the nature of the injuries are still being determined. All victims were taken to the hospital.
An investigative and operational group of the Department for Investigation of Crimes in the Sphere of Transport of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi Oblast is working at the scene of the accident. The inspection of the scene of the accident and documentation of the consequences of the accident are ongoing.
The issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved.
