In the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation, they have been unable to extinguish a fire at an oil depot for the third day after Ukrainian drones hit it the day before. As Baza reported, 11 fuel tanks burned out at the oil depot in Proletarsk yesterday, and on August 20 it became known that the area of ​​the fire had significantly increased.

"Today, during the firefighting, several fuel tanks were depressurized - an explosion occurred, and huge columns of flame rose into the sky. More than 40 firefighters were injured. Seven of them were sent by helicopter to Rostov hospitals, another 13 people were hospitalized in local institutions. Everyone has burns to the respiratory tract and skin," the resource writes.

It is specified that almost 300 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 77 units of equipment are working at the scene, and the area of ​​the fire has increased several times.

"Currently, 22 fuel tanks are burning there and will probably burn for several more days," the report says.

According to the publication, temporary accommodation points for rescuers, as well as field kitchens, have been deployed at the scene. So far, the fire has not been localized; at the moment, the area of ​​the fire is about 10,000 square meters. There is constant pouring between the tanks at the scene to prevent detonation.

Rospotrebnadzor employees are also working at the scene, constantly measuring the air. At the moment, no excess of the permissible concentration of harmful substances has been detected.
