It is almost impossible to destroy the dam of the Kyiv hydroelectric power station with missile strikes, says the dean of the faculty of natural sciences of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Yevhen Khlobystov.
"We need so many direct hits on the dams of the Kiev hydroelectric power station that it is already in the realm of fantasy. Therefore, we do not expect any disasters in this regard," he explained on the air of Radio NV.
According to the scientist, the dam cannot be completely destroyed, so even damage to the station will not lead to a disaster. We may be talking about a certain flooding of the capital's territory, he added.
"We just have to realize that the worst thing that can happen is a temporary failure of the Kyiv hydroelectric power station, its inability to generate electricity. And then we again find ourselves in a certain deficit, especially for Kiev residents," Khlobystov said.
