Since mid-2022, North Korea has sent 13 thousand sea containers to Russia, which could have been used to transport weapons.
This is stated in a report by the South Korean Defense Intelligence Agency, Yonhap News Agency writes, citing a representative of the ruling People's Power Party. More than 6 million 152-mm artillery shells could have been transported through the eastern port of Najin.
"Preparing for a long war in Ukraine, Russia has begun to officially use North Korea as a base for the supply of weapons and ammunition," the report says.
The military suspects that the DPRK could also have supplied Russia with 122-mm artillery shells, mobile anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles. In exchange, Moscow could provide Pyongyang with technological assistance in missile and spy satellite programs.
