Russian troops continue to press in the Pokrovsk direction, trying to reach Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. However, the enemy does not need the city itself, but the opportunity to move to Konstantinovka.
This was stated on air by military expert, founder of the "Reactive Mail" charity organization Pavel Narozhny on "24 Kanal". He noted that behind Pokrovsk is the important road Mirnohrad - Kramatorsk.
"Beyond Kramatorsk, the next city is Konstantinovka and Chasov Yar. Chasov Yar is our outpost, it has been holding out for more than six months, because in front of it is a canal that functions as a fortification. The city itself is located on a commanding height, they cannot take it. Therefore, the enemy took the standard route - cutting supply routes," he continued.
According to Narozhny, there is a section in the area of the village of Vozdvizhenka where the enemy is 5-6 kilometers from the road to Konstantinovka. The second section is "the city of Pokrovsk itself, about 7 kilometers away." However, the enemy has not been able to capture Vozdvizhenka for several weeks, which is why it has concentrated on Pokrovsk, Narozhny believes.
"I can't say that there is chaos there, everyone is retreating or throwing down their weapons. This is not true. The enemy is advancing at a speed of hundreds of meters, not kilometers. But the situation is difficult. It has arisen because mobilization has been delayed, there are not enough people," he explained.
In addition, the work of the Ukrainian Defense Forces is complicated by attacks with guided aerial bombs carried out by the occupiers.
