The advance of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region has slowed. Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to consolidate and hold the areas that they recently took under control.

This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War, citing Russian mibloggers. At the same time, some of them claim that the Russians are gradually stabilizing the situation in this section of the front.

Geolocation footage released on August 28 shows Russian soldiers operating in the eastern village of Korenevo. This likely indicates a recent withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from this area and the restoration of certain lost positions by the Russians.

One of the bloggers stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced past the villages of Vetreno, Kremne, and Sheptukhovka (all to the east and northeast of Korenevo); within eastern Nechayev and Cherkassky Porechny (both northeast of Sudzha); and in the fields south of the villages of Spalnoye (southeast of Sudzha).

According to them, units of the 810th Marine Infantry Brigade (Pacific Fleet, Eastern Military District) cleared Spornoye and re-established control over this territory.

The Russian Defense Ministry and other sources indicate that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked east of Korenevoy near Olgovka, north of Sudzha near Malaya Lokna, east of Sudzha near Russkaya Konopelka, and southeast of Sudzha near the village of Borki.

At the same time, the Russians allegedly repelled attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to cross the international border near Zhuravlevka in the Belgorod region, which is north of Kharkov.
