It is noted that Starlink, a satellite broadband company owned by billionaire Elon Musk, said on Tuesday that it was complying with a ruling by Brazil's Supreme Court to block access to social network X in the country. This happened a day after it notified the state regulator that it would not comply with the order.

Reuters writes that Starlink has become the latest battleground between Musk and Brazil. The point is that Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes ordered the company's accounts to be frozen, possibly to use them to pay fines owed to X, which is also owned by Musk.

"Despite the illegal treatment of Starlink related to the freezing of our assets, we comply with the order to block access to X in Brazil," Starlink, which has more than 200,000 customers in this Latin American country, said in a statement.

As the agency notes, on Monday, Brazilian telecoms regulator Anatel said Starlink had notified it of its decision not to comply with Judge Moraes' order. The ruling required all internet service providers to block access to the X social network within the country.

However, a representative of Anatel told Reuters that Starlink had changed its mind. On Tuesday, the company notified the regulator that it would complete the blocking within a few hours.

Anatel, meanwhile, confirmed that Starlink had already begun to disable access to X in Brazil.

Recall that X has been blocked in Brazil since last week. This happened after Moraes ordered all telecom operators in the country to disconnect the social media platform for not having a legal representative in the country.
