The meeting between US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer did not affect the change in US policy regarding the possible permission for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike their weapons deep into Russia. This was stated by the head of the US State Department press service Matthew Miller at a briefing.
"I have no announcements about changes in our policy today," he emphasized.
At the same time, Miller added, the United States will continue to discuss with Ukraine possible ways of supporting it so that it can win this war. He clarified that this concerns the provision of technical means and intelligence.
"We always discuss with the Ukrainians what they need and how we can best support them," the head of the press service added.
He also recalled US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's statements that the US is ready to "adapt and adjust this policy as needed" - in a way that makes "strategic sense." At the same time, Miller did not answer the question of whether the strike policy could still be changed in the future, saying that he "does not have any announcements today" on this matter.
