In the evening, the head of the Zaporizhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, wrote in his Telegram channel about the destruction and fire in the city. According to him, the victims are receiving assistance. Rescuers are also working at the scene of the attack.
"The Russians attacked Zaporizhia. Preliminary, five people were injured. As a result of the strike, buildings were partially destroyed. The blast wave and debris damaged nearby houses. A fire broke out. Rescuers are working at the scene, the information is being clarified," he added.
The police of the Zaporizhia region reported six strikes (preliminary - KABs) on the territory of the regional center and district in the period from 22:19 to 23:04. Russian munitions hit civilian infrastructure, and parked cars caught fire and damaged nearby residential buildings. Police also reported five wounded, one of whom they freed from the damaged building.
Updated at 01:20: The number of victims has risen to six people, they are receiving medical assistance, Fedorov reports.
"Rescuers, police officers, utility workers, doctors and social workers are working together to eliminate the aftermath of the strike and help the victims. Tents have been set up at two locations, where residents are seeking support. A point of invincibility is operating around the clock near the site of the strike," he wrote.
Updated at 02:05: As of 01:00, the State Emergency Service knew of nine injured people, including one injured child. Rescuers evacuated residents of damaged apartment buildings, and one woman was freed from her own apartment.
