Turkey announced that it is stepping up efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war through diplomacy and dialogue based on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

This was stated in the speech of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the UN General Assembly in New York. According to him, in the third year of the war in Ukraine, "we are still far from establishing a just and lasting peace."

"As the arms race accelerates, the field of diplomacy is gradually narrowing. We will continue to increase support for efforts to end the war through diplomacy and dialogue based on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine," Erdogan emphasized.

He added that Istanbul will continue to carefully implement the provisions of the Montreux Convention, but also emphasized the ineffectiveness of the UN and called for reforming the organization, in particular its Security Council.
