The United States of America announced the allocation of a new package of military aid to Ukraine totaling $375 million. This is reported by CNN.
The aid package, which is almost double the volume of the latest deliveries, includes artillery ammunition, air defense systems, anti-tank missiles and other critical weapons and equipment that the US has already provided to Ukraine.
The allocation of new weapons for Ukraine was confirmed by the Pentagon.
"Today, the U.S. Department of Defense announced additional security assistance to provide Ukraine with the tools it needs to win the fight against Russian aggression. This includes authorization of a $375 million Presidential Arms Reduction Authority (PDA) package to provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to meet its most pressing needs, including air-to-ground weapons, rocket and artillery munitions, armored vehicles, and anti-tank weapons," the statement said.
What is included in the PDA assistance package:
Air-to-ground munitions;
High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) munitions;
155mm and 105mm artillery munitions;
Tubular Launched Optically Tracked Wire-Guided (TOW) missiles;
Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
M1117 Armored Security Vehicles;
Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles;
Light Tactical Vehicles;
Armored Bridge Systems;
Small Arms;
Patrol Boats;
Engine Sapper Equipment and Ammunition;
Spare Parts, Support Equipment, Services, Training, and Transportation.
This is the 66th tranche of equipment that the Biden Administration will provide to Ukraine from U.S. Department of Defense warehouses, starting in August 2021.
