Russia is responsible for 80 percent of influence operations in the world, so the West needs to be more decisive in its fight. This was stated by the head of the Czech Foreign Ministry Jan Lipavsky during a speech at the international conference "Resilient Europe", according to a message on the website of the country's Foreign Ministry.
"Currently, Russia is responsible for 80 percent of influence operations in the world. This is four times more than the rest of the world combined. In the fight against the Kremlin's influence, we need much more determination than we have had so far," he said.
According to the head of the Czech Foreign Ministry, this requires intensifying strategic communication, strengthening sanctions, and more actively using existing legal measures.
"The war against Ukraine and the Kremlin's aggressive policy clearly illustrate the need for more effective counteraction to hybrid threats," the Foreign Ministry added.
On October 9, the international conference "Resilient Europe" took place in Prague, with over 250 participants from 30 countries. The main topic was foreign interference, influence and foreign disinformation, which pose a growing threat to the security of the Czech Republic and the whole of Europe.
