Previously, no one was ready for Ukraine's membership in NATO, but now most of the allies are striving for it. This statement was made by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a documentary about the western direction for Ukraine, which was broadcast in the telethon.
"We have done a lot so that most of everyone is on our side. No one saw Ukraine in NATO. To be honest, all the promises in 2008 and before that, starting in the 90s, about what kind of security Ukraine should have - these are nothing more than words. No one was ready for Ukraine to join NATO. Today, most of the allies are striving for this. Not only are they ready, they are striving," he emphasized.
Zelensky admitted that there are also those countries that are afraid of Ukraine's membership in NATO.
"It cannot be said [that] they are afraid of Russia. Some are afraid of the consequences," the President explained.
