The leader of the Christian Democratic Union and candidate for German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that he would agree to supply the Ukrainian army with Taurus cruise missiles only under one condition.
Ntv recalls that it was the CDU/CSU parliamentary faction that twice made a proposal to supply these missiles to the Ukrainian army. On the air of the ARD TV channel, the politician explained that first Berlin should tell the Kremlin ruler Putin that he must stop bombing civilian targets in Ukraine.
If Moscow does not listen, Merz believes it is necessary to lift restrictions on the use of weapons supplied by Germany, and only then transfer long-range Taurus missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
