Russian occupation forces attacked Mykolaiv with attack drones on the night of November 11. The Ukrainian Air Force reported a UAV threat in the city and the region.
"There are fires in residential buildings in the city, all services are on site," said Vitaly Kim, Chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
As specified by the regional headquarters of the National Police, drones hit a multi-story and private home in different areas of the city. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out on the upper floors of a four-story building.
"Unfortunately, five people died as a result of the hits - four residents of a private home - three women and a man, as well as a resident of an apartment building. A resident of a four-story building was injured," law enforcement officials said.
A blast wave and debris damaged apartments, nearby stores and cars, a private home was destroyed, and others were damaged.
Information about the victims and damaged property is currently being clarified. The police and other specialized services are working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are recording the consequences of enemy attacks, collecting evidence of another war crime by Russia, questioning citizens, maintaining law and order, and providing psychological assistance to victims. An investigation has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Kim also specified that stores and two cars of city residents, an apartment building, private residential buildings were damaged, one of them was destroyed to the ground. The blast wave damaged apartments, four stores, a heating network was broken, and there are disconnections from heat and gas supply.
As reported, around 2:45 a.m. explosions thundered in the regional center. Around 4 a.m. Kim reported the death of two people in the city. A 45-year-old woman was also injured and taken to the hospital.
At 5:38 a.m. Kim added that the number of people killed as a result of the attack by Russian troops had risen to four.
At 6:34 it became known that the search operations were completed - the death toll had risen to 5 people.
"As a result of the landings, there was damage to residential buildings in different areas of the city, as well as non-residential premises. A fire broke out at one of the landings, which was quickly extinguished by rescuers. Our utility services are working on the ground. Surveys of the nearby area are continuing," added Mykolaiv Mayor Alexander Senkevich.
The State Emergency Service reported that as a result of the UAV hit, a private one-story house was destroyed, and there was also damage on the fourth floor of a four-story building. The 3-4 floors caught fire, and a fire broke out in a private house.
The bodies of the deceased were released by rescuers. Psychologists are working on the scene, 22 people turned to them for help. One woman has an acute reaction to stress, she was hospitalized with a hypertensive crisis.
