On Thursday, November 28, Russian occupiers launched a massive air attack on Ukraine, and in particular, the energy infrastructure was hit. According to analysts, our country will now face problems in the energy sector for some time.
The executive director of the non-governmental organization "Institute for Sustainable Development of Ukraine" reported that "more than 40 percent of Ukraine's generating capacity had been destroyed and seized even before the attacks on Thursday." The expert's information was published by The New York Times.
This week, Director of the Center for Energy Studies Alexander Kharchenko gave a bleak forecast about the situation in the energy sector of Ukraine.
According to the expert, our state will need years to increase generating capacity:
"Unfortunately, we are forced to state that in the near future we will be limited in generating capacity for at least three to four years until we build new ones."
