A 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded after Israel struck a Syrian military base in Tartus.

According to The Times of Israel, tremors were recorded late yesterday evening off the coast of Syria. Hebrew-language media outlets attributed them to powerful Israeli strikes in the coastal region of Tartus.

We are talking about a 3.1 magnitude earthquake. Its epicenter was about 28 kilometers off the coast of Banias.

The depth of the earthquake was measured at 32 kilometers, and there is no confirmation that the tremors were actually caused by explosions.

Israeli jets carried out intensive strikes in the Syrian coastal region on Sunday evening, targeting air defense units, surface-to-surface missile depots and other targets, the Syrian Observatory said.
