The General Staff confirmed an attack on an oil refinery in the Rostov region

On the night of December 19, the forces and assets of the Ukrainian Navy and the Security Service of Ukraine attacked the infrastructure and production facilities of the Novoshakhtinsky Oil Refinery in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"This is the only refinery operating in the Rostov region. It is used to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces. It specializes in the production of fuel oil, heating oil, marine and diesel fuel, straight-run gasoline. The design refining capacity reaches 7.5 million tons of oil per year," the statement noted.
According to the General Staff, the fire occurred in the area of the facility, namely, at the ELOU-AVT-2.5 catalytic cracking unit. More details about the consequences of the damage are still unknown.
