Russia does not plan to participate in the second peace summit, even if it receives an invitation. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the TASS agency.
The Russian diplomat said that Kyiv has not abandoned the goal of restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the 1991 borders and demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops from these territories. These points are the basis of the "peace formula" proposed by the Ukrainian president.
"In October, meetings were held as part of the preparation for the second peace summit. We know that the organizers want to invite Russia, as we understand, in order to give us some kind of ultimatum," Lavrov said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that, given this, Moscow sees no point in participating in the peace summit. "I have explained many times that Russia does not intend to participate in this event, even if we receive an official invitation," he added.
