Chasovy Yar suffers from constant shelling and drone attacks by Russian occupation forces. This was reported on the air of "Espresso" by the head of the city military administration, Sergei Chaus.
"The situation in Chasovy Yar remains extremely tense. Constant fighting and attacks make the city extremely dangerous. Ukrainian military personnel hold their positions and hold back the enemy's advance, but the situation is complicated by the active use of enemy drones," Chaus noted.
According to him, the civilians who remained in the city are trying to survive. Mostly elderly citizens remained in Chasovy Yar. Most of them live on the first floors of multi-story buildings or in basements, since the shelling by the Russians does not stop.
"One of the most difficult problems is enemy drones. Yesterday, an elderly person was killed again as a result of drone drops. Enemy drones are essentially organizing a "safari". It does not matter to them whether a person is simply walking down the street or running from the basement to his house. But despite the difficult situation, the number of requests for evacuation is gradually decreasing," the head of the MVA concluded.
