In Kursk region, Ukrainian military eliminated a titled Russian athlete, namely a representative of karate, two-time world champion and four-time European champion Alexander Rud. This was reported by the Watchers publication.

Currently, there is no exact information on social networks, Russian media and on the websites of sports federations about the date, place and circumstances of the athlete's death. Most likely, they are not writing about him because the occupier was eliminated in Kursk region.

Alexander Rud was a two-time world champion, four-time European champion and multiple champion of the Russian Federation in Shotokan karate-do. In addition, in Russia he was awarded the sports rank of "master of sports of international class".

"Watchers managed to find the first information about Rud's liquidation in a publication from January 14 on the page of the head of the Department of Physical Education and Health of the Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute, Anatoly Shchekin," the report noted.

According to Shchekin, Rud was a teacher at the institute's department and died in the "SVO."

"Also, on Artem Rud's VKontakte page (most likely, Alexander's brother) on December 21, 2024, a joint photo with the karateka appeared. There was no text comment under the photo. But a black heart and a song by one of the Russian rappers called "Brother," which was also attached to the message, suggest that Alexander could have been liquidated last year," the journalists emphasized.

At the same time, Alexander's VKontakte page was last active on November 29, 2024. Therefore, Watchers assumed that he was liquidated around the 20th of November to December 21.

In turn, on February 2, a tournament dedicated to the memory of the occupier was held in Maykop. In the commentary to the video from the competition, the Russians reported for the first time that the athlete was liquidated on the territory of the Kursk region.

"Today's competition was not quite ordinary. In the year of the Defender of the Fatherland, they were dedicated to the memory of the outstanding athlete of Adygea in karate, master of sports of the international category, world champion (shotokan), multiple champion of Europe, Russia Alexander Rud, who tragically died defending our country in the Kursk region. The parents, wife of Alexander, his coach and sports comrades were present in the hall," the note emphasized.
