The US is having "very constructive talks on Ukraine" and will do everything to stop the war in Ukraine.

This statement was made by US President Donald Trump at a press conference in the White House, Voice of America writes. He compared the destruction in Ukraine with the destruction in the Gaza Strip. In his opinion, Ukrainian cities look "as bad as Gaza, and even worse."

"Right now, the cities are largely destroyed. We are talking about a very sad sight. Many of these cities look as bad as Gaza, and even worse," Trump said.

He noted that he wants to stop the "absolute carnage" on the territory of Ukraine. "We are talking to the Russians and the Ukrainian leadership. We are having very good talks, and I think we will succeed. I think something will happen, hopefully, radically," Trump said.

He did not provide more specific details of these dialogues and did not answer the question of whether he would demand that the Kremlin leave Ukraine. But he shared that he receives data on the number of soldiers killed in Ukraine every week, and "these numbers are shocking."

"When you hear the real numbers from Ukraine, and that doesn't include the cities that were destroyed and all the people that were killed, that's why I want it to stop," he said.

According to Trump, on the Ukrainian side, we are talking about 700,000 dead soldiers and "800,000, and maybe more" on the Russian side.
