Saudi Arabia intends to mediate in US-Russia talks to end the war and establish peace in Ukraine. This is reported by CNN.

On February 18, Saudi Arabia will provide a platform for the start of the negotiation process to end the war in Ukraine. It will begin with bilateral talks between the US and Russia. However, this is not the country's main mission.

An unnamed Saudi official said that they will do more than just host guests and will take on a mediating role. The Saudi Arabian team will be headed by the country's national security adviser.

Ukraine was not invited to the talks in Saudi Arabia. However, the Trump administration's special representative for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, will arrive in Kyiv this week, and Trump himself said that Ukraine will be part of the talks.

The US delegation to the meeting will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
