Unknown drones have attacked a Russian military airfield in Mozdok (North Ossetia, Russia). This was reported by Astra, citing eyewitnesses.

The Governor of North Ossetia-Alania, Sergei Menyailo, declared a drone alert at 04:14. He then reported that 15 UAVs had allegedly been shot down in Mozdok.

"An attack by unmanned aerial vehicles has been repelled in the Mozdok District. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 15 drones were destroyed by air defense systems. There were no casualties or damage," he said on Telegram.

Astra geolocated a photo of smoke after the attack in Mozdok - the footage was taken near the building of the district cultural center. This is approximately 6 kilometers from the airbase. Residents of the city report that the attack was aimed specifically at the airfield.

Earlier, the Mozdok airfield was damaged in an attack in July 2024. The consequences of this attack are not reported.

However, the Ministry of Defense of the occupying country announced a massive drone attack on the night of April 9. It is noted that 158 ​​UAVs were allegedly shot down, including 15 over the territory of North Ossetia-Alania.
