US President Donald Trump said that foreign leaders are calling him and fawning over him to persuade him to cancel tariffs. According to CNN, at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) presidential dinner in Washington, he said that representatives of other countries are "kissing his ass" to try to make a deal.
"I'm telling you, these countries are calling us, kissing my ass. They want this deal so bad. 'Please, please, sir, let's make a deal. "I'll do anything, sir," Trump said.
At the same time, responding to criticism of the tariffs, Trump said that the United States earns almost $2 billion a day from them.
"We get almost $2 billion a day from tariffs... And we're very good at making what I call individual deals... America is going to be very rich again very soon," Trump said.
Trump also said that he has received more approval ratings than any US president in his first 100 days in office.
"Someone told me that the most successful month, the first month in history, is now. They say this is the most successful 100 days in the history of our country. And I believe that's true, and we're going to continue to do so," the US president concluded.
