The Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a Russian strategic Tu-22M3 bomber that had just landed with a drone. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Sirsky told LB.ua about this.
"A few days ago, our successful actions destroyed a long-range Tu-22M3 bomber. It had just landed - and our drone hit it. The cost was about 100 million dollars," he said.
Syrsky added that as a result of strikes on Russian arsenals, the volume of artillery ammunition used has decreased. In addition, several facilities where "shaheeds" were stored and prepared for launch were destroyed, which also led to a decrease in the number of their attacks.
Also, according to the general, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully struck several airfields, forcing the Russians to move their aircraft deeper into the rear. If earlier the aircraft were based at a distance of 100-150 km from the front, now - at 200-300 km, in particular in Engels and Shaikovka.
"The Russian fleet is effectively closed in Novorossiysk. Sometimes it breaks through, but for them this is a test, because they know that they are constantly under the threat of our strikes," added Syrsky.
At the same time, the commander-in-chief emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces regularly hit elements of the enemy's air defense system, which significantly weakens their capabilities both in defense and in recognizing Ukrainian air attack assets. The loss of each such station is tens of millions of dollars in losses for Russia.
