The Russian Federation has stated that the position of the United States of America regarding Ukraine's membership in NATO is satisfying.
The Kremlin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov once again called Ukraine's desire to join NATO "one of the root causes" of the war. He also told reporters that Moscow "at various levels" heard from Washington that it rules out the country's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance:
"And, of course, this is something that satisfies us and coincides with our position that Ukraine should not be a member of NATO and should not have the prospect of integrating with the North Atlantic Alliance, because this would pose a threat to the national interests of the Russian Federation."
