US President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to its lowest since he returned to the White House, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

That puts Trump's approval rating at about 42%, down from 43% three weeks ago and 47% immediately after Trump's inauguration in January.

While Trump's approval rating remains higher than it was during most of his predecessor Joe Biden's presidency, the poll suggests many Americans are unhappy with his actions.

83% of respondents said the US president should obey federal court orders even if he doesn't want to.

At the same time, 57% disagreed with the statement that "it's OK for the US president to cut off funding to universities if the president doesn't agree with how they're run."

Another 66% do not believe that the president should control leading cultural institutions, such as national museums and theaters.

The survey results show that most Americans disapprove of Trump's performance on a range of issues, from inflation and immigration to taxes and the rule of law. In particular, only 45% of respondents approve of his actions on immigration, while 46% disapprove.

59% of respondents said that America under Trump's leadership is losing credibility on the world stage.

It is noted that the Reuters/Ipsos study lasted for 6 days. It included 4,306 respondents. The statistical error does not exceed 2%.
